Blade is 3/8" (1cm) wide and 11 3/4" (30cm) long.
Joseph Marples was one of several ‘Marples’ in Sheffield manufacturing joiners tools in the 1840s. Know for their brass inlaid rosewood & ebony braces, boxwood spokeshaves, beech planes, gauges and squares. The company is in family hands and still based in Sheffield.
Steel ferrule and boxwood handle. Stamped with previous owners name 'F.Johnson'.
Marked with the three shamrock logo, along with Cross-ground point, 'Skidproof'
Has been lightly cleaned to keep the original patina.
Aged related wear.
