Fantastic Arts and Crafts style coffee set by Craftsman Pewter, a Trademark of Viner's Ltd. Sheffield, England. c.1926 - 1939.
Dimensions:
Coffee pot: 5" (12.5cm) high, 7 1/2" (19cm) wide, handle to spout
Hot water pot: 6 1/4" (16cm) high, 6" (15cm) wide, handle to spout
Cream: 2 3/4" (7cm) high, 4" (10cm), handle to spout
Sugar: 2 3/4" (7cm) high, 5" (12.5cm), handle to handle
Approx: 2.8lb (1.25KG)
In a hammered pewter finish with woven rattan handles to the pots, this typical Arts & Crafts styling. Considering that these are nearly one hundred years old, this set is in amazing condition. There is the odd dint and mark, so please check the photos carefully.
This is vintage pewter so will have a lead content, so we'd recommend it for decorative purposes only.
Viners, Sheffield
With a long and illustrious history as a family of silversmiths in the UK since the late 19th century. Viners establishing their first manufacturing business in 1908 in Sheffield, specialising in plated holloware, one of the first businesses to introduce new cutting edge production techniques.
After the First World War, they diversified into cutlery production and became leaders in the marketplace. Utilising real marketing strategies; specifically designed packaging and advertising campaigns, becoming the most recognised cutlery brand in the UK. Viners had a clear directive for innovative design and employed eminent designers to create many of their classic designs.
